About

IMG_1994This, of course, is me, Rachel.

This blog is a compilation of what I am pursuing, experiencing, and creating around the world. I love living in community, learning voraciously, and experimenting with a plethora of new projects and recipes – and I enjoy writing of these adventures and sharing them with others.

I am currently serving 27 months in the Philippines with the U.S. Peace Corps. I work with a nonprofit organization called My Refuge House and it is a shelter for girls who have been rescued from commercial sexual exploitation and abuse. I absolutely love my work and I talk of the amazing girls often in this blog. It’s a pretty great gig. Can’t lie.

  1. Hi Rachel, nice to meet you. Sounds like you’re having an amazing time in the Philippines. What an incredible opportunity.
Thanks so much for following our blog. I hope you enjoy the stories of our journey. And don’t be a stranger. Come on over and join the conversation.
    Cheers,

  2. I stumbled upon your blog through the wordpress reader. I just want to say I find your lifestyle inspiring. We are continually trying to live our life in a more sustainable and more simplistic manner, and I am so impressed you are planning on building and living in a tiny home! That is a definite commitment. I can’t wait to see what your tiny home looks like (and the building progress), it makes our 1350 sq foot homestead seem like a mansion.
